Looking Back on 2021 at Adey Steel Group
Throughout 2021, we worked amongst difficult circumstances once again managing the implications of the coronavirus pandemic. Despite this our teams pulled together and continued strong performance throughout the year. Some of the key achievements and movements include:
-celebrating our win of the first phase of the Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification, which involved 400 OLE structures running from York to Church Fenton.
-investing in 40 new ‘on torch’ weld fume extraction units which introduced an immediately noticeable difference into our workshops.
-showing our support to the Armed Forces through signing the Armed Forces Covenant to show our acknowledgement that those who served should be treated with fairness and respect.
-donating ICT equipment to local schools as part of our community engagement promise.
-recieving our certification for the RQSC Bridgeworks Register which puts us among the leading suppliers in bridgeworks.
-completing a successful site assembly on 2No 50m linkspan bridges for the Seacombe Refurbishment project.
-introducing recycling bins onto the shop floor to increase our role in reducing our environmental impact.
-Whitechapel Station fully reopened to the public after a 7-year refurbishment – a project that Adey Steel played a key role within.
-making upgrades in the Adey Steel North Works which increases our lifting capacity to 34t, allowing us to take on bigger projects going forward.
-working throughout the year with both the Engineering Development Trust and Government Apprenticeships to help with training the younger generations.
-our work on the Seacombe Refurbishment Project was featured in the New Steel Construction Magazine.
-welcoming Simon Lisser as Financial Director, following Richard Norton’s retirement after 26 years in the role.
-continuing to get involved with charity events despite large number working from home – taking part in events such as Wear It Pink Day for Breast Cancer UK and Jeans for Genes.
The video below shows a summary of some of the content we’ve shared on LinkedIn throughout 2021, showcasing some more key achievements within Adey Steel.
As we move closer to our 100-year anniversary, we will continue to be dedicated to producing quality work – supporting our vision to become the UK’s leading steel infrastructure specialist. We hope to continue expressing and displaying our embedded values throughout all of our operations to ensure we are achieving high performance all round.
We are looking forward to continuing working with our current customers and building new relationships in 2022 and beyond.
