Successful Trial Assembly of Smart Valve Structures
Adey Steel and our full client chain have succeeded in the first live trial assembly of structures fabricated to support innovative Smartvalve technology that is pioneering improvements to the way electrical power is distributed throughout the UK sub-station network.
The collaborative exercise involved a ‘live’ pre-galvanising trial assembly to allow the erection sequence to be tested, reviewed and improved where possible. Dummy fabrications were produced in order to replicate the non-steel components, including electrical containers and porcelain tubes that will form part of the structure at their final location.
The assembly period lasted 1 week with many hold and review points specified to ensure all elements had been considered. The Adey team look forward to continue to support the entire project and client teams on this outstanding energy engineering project.
