This project highlights Adey Steel’s capability in delivering engineered solutions for waste-to-energy and renewable power facilities.
Adey Steel manufactured and supplied Furnace Chamber Wind Boxes for a UK Recycling and Renewable Energy Centre. The facility converts residential waste into energy, producing enough power to heat approximately 8,000 homes, placing high importance on quality, safety, and reliability.
A total of 20 Wind Boxes were fabricated at Adey Steel’s Loughborough headquarters. Each unit was produced to exacting standards and subjected to a robust quality and testing regime, including:
-
Full pressure testing to 16 bar
-
Non-destructive testing (NDT), with 10% magnetic particle inspection (MPI) per unit
-
Application of a Zinc Phosphate Primer for corrosion protection prior to delivery
This project demonstrates Adey Steel’s ability to deliver safety-critical fabrications that support sustainable energy generation across the UK.
