Adey Steel has worked closely with Network Rail to establish a Series 1 OLE test track at High Marnham.
The specialist steel fabricator manufactured and supplied over 300 tonnes of galvanised OLE structures in the form of masts, booms, struts and bracket for use at the Rail Innovation & Development Centre (RIDC) facility in Nottinghamshire.
All steelwork was fabricated by Adey Steel to CE Marking Execution Class II and galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461:2009. All component parts were pre-assembled at the Adey Steel HQ in Loughborough for ease of transportation and installation on site in Tuxford.
The RIDC site provides Network Rail with 10 miles of single-line test track with a three-mile double section, capable of testing up to 75mph.
