Adey Steel has manufactured and supplied over 4,000 tonnes of fabricated steelwork as part of the the £1.3 billion Midland Mainline electrification programme.
The biggest programme of improvements to the line since its inception in 1870, Adey Steel supplied everything from OLE Structures, Master Series (MS) & Series 1 STC Masts through to SSA Masts, TTC Masts, TTC Booms, Portal Masts, Adapter Plates and Viaduct Brackets for the London to Corby section of the Midland Mainline.
The Loughborough-based steel fabrication infrastructure specialist worked closely with the client from the outset on programme planning and logistics to ensure that all the steelwork was delivered on time and on budget. It also took a pioneering approach to cost control by pre-rolling all project raw material via British Steel so that steel price fluctuations were de-risked and a consistent supply of material from storage to guarantee lead times.
