Adey Steel wins major new highways contract
Adey Steel has secured a major new contract to supply additional gantries for the National Emergency Area Retrofit (NEAR) scheme.
The Loughborough-based steel fabrication infrastructure specialist has been appointed by one of the UK’s leading construction and regeneration groups to manufacture motorway gantries for use on smart motorways in the East Midlands and the South West of England.
As a member of the National Highways Sector Scheme (NHSS), Adey Steel will be fabricating overhead gantries to display more information for drivers about the additional emergency areas being made available between Junctions 23a and 25 of the M1 and Junctions 4a and 6 of the M5. It has previously supplied overhead gantries for the NEAR scheme on the M1 between junctions 32 and 35A.
Andrew Adey, Managing Director of Adey Steel, explained: “We are delighted to have been chosen by the client to support their work on the NEAR Scheme. The team at Adey Steel are looking forward to working closely with them over the coming weeks and months to help deliver this major highways infrastructure programme.”
Overhead gantries are just one of the many specialist fabrication steelworks manufactured by Adey Steel for clients across the energy, highways and rail infrastructure sectors at its headquarters in the East Midlands. To learn more about our fabrication capabilities click here.
