Adey Steel Group Invests in Plate Profiling Technology
Adey Steel has invested in new plate profiling machinery and software in order to increase its capability and efficiency in producing plates and fittings for its in-house operations across all its divisions.
The Loughborough-based specialist steel infrastructure specialist installed a new Esprit Viper Plasma Profiling Centre as well as new SigmaNest nesting software on both the new machine and its existing Ficep Tipo Profiling and Machining Centre. The software maximises material utilisation by importing data with a single click allowing fast high yield nesting that produces minimal waste.
The high definition Esprit Viper Plasma Profiling Centre is equipped with Hypertherem’s patented SureCut and TrueHole technology ensuring consistent quality of the highest level, and the impressive speed of the machine allows up to 75 tonnes of cut fittings to be produced in a single day.
The recent addition of the Esprit Viper gives Adey Steel the ability to profile plates from 6mm to 200mm in thickness to suit a wide variety of industrial and engineering applications.
