Adey Steel upskills site management team
The Adey Steel site contract management team have embarked on an NVQ programme.
The team, which consists of Contract Managers, Site Managers and Site Supervisors, are all being enrolled on NVQ Construction Site Management courses at either Level 4 or Level 6.
The NVQ demonstrates competency against the National Occupational Standards and covers key areas such as health and safety, site set up, pre-start procedures, environmental considerations, planning, resourcing, quality, customer satisfaction and handover. It will also enable all members of the team to be Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) certified.
The courses combine classroom learning with onsite assessments together with a follow-up assessment workshop if required.
Rob Hall, Operations Director at Adey Steel, explained: “As part of our culture of continuous learning at Adey Steel, we are enrolling our entire contract management team in a dedicated Construction Site management training programme.
“This diploma will provide each member of the team with a formal qualification that clearly demonstrates their authority, accountability and decision-making when working onsite for a main contractor.”
Among those who have enrolled on the NVQ Construction Site Management course are Contract Managers Stuart Gray and Steve Durrell, who are pictured right.
Stuart Gray added: "The learning I have received through the NVQ is already proving extremely useful both to myself and the wider team when it comes to applying different policies and procedures onsite."
