Bank of England visits Adey Steel
Andrew Bailey, the Governor of the Bank of England, made a special visit to Adey Steel.
Andrew, who was the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) prior to becoming Governor of the Bank of England in 2020, took time out from his busy schedule to tour the company’s purpose-built factory on the Falcon Business Park in Loughborough.
The 64-year-old, who was born in Leicestershire, spent several hours in his home county with colleagues from the Bank of England gaining an insight into the award-winning, family-owned-and-operated business. He also met with the company’s current welder / fabricator apprentices, who recently celebrated National Apprenticeship Week in conjunction with Leicester College.
Adey Steel is one of the UK’s leading steel fabrication infrastructure specialists. Founded in 1925, Adey Steel supports a diverse range of customers on projects in the rail, highways, energy, engineering, material handling and construction sectors.
Andrew Adey, Managing Director of Adey Steel, explained: “It was a real pleasure to provide Andrew Bailey and his team from the Bank of England with an insight into the work we do at Adey Steel supporting the UK infrastructure sector.”
