Site Assembly Success at Seacombe for Two Linkspan Bridges
Adey Steel site teams have seen the successful site assembly of two 50m linkspan bridges at their dockside location near Liverpool prior to them being loaded on to crane barges and floated to their installation location a few miles along the Mersey River. The bridges provide both pedestrian and vehicle access from a passenger ferry terminal building to the berthing pontoon.
Each bridge has been fabricated in 8 welded sections to be bolted together before being fitted on to complex bearing arrangements at both ends of the structure that allow for both the rise and fall of the tidal river as well as the drag movements of the incoming and outgoing flow.
As specialist bridge providers the Adey Steel team look forward to continuing to support their client on upcoming similar projects in the future.
