Adey Steel has designed, manufacturerd and supplied two bespoke cake storage silos, accompanying support structures, platforms and stairs, for a high profile waste water treatment plant in the South of England.
The project scope involved the detailed drawing of the silos and steelwork using our specialist inhouse technical services operating on our industry leading BIM compliant 3D modelling software Tekla. The data provided from the 3D modelling offered seamless integration with our CNC machinery allowing fast and accurate processing of the component parts.
The main silo bodies measured five metres in diameter and eight meters in height making full use of extensive working height and door size at our fabrication headquarters in Loughborough. The silo bodies were finished with a three coat painting system while the structural elements were galvanised to BS EN 1461 providing suitably long lasting protective coating system for the entire project.
